The Beach on Hilton Head
“Take nothing but your memories, leave nothing but your footprints”
Hilton Head Island
is blessed with 14 miles of the most beautiful beaches
on the east coast.
There is no more relaxing place to take a stroll, build a sand castle, learn to surf, ride a boogie board, look for shells or just sit and read a book while taking in the sights and ocean breezes. Gently sloping beaches and offshore sandbars create very
calm surf conditions with water temperatures in the mid eighties during the summer months.
The sand below the mid tide line is usually hard packed enough to support a bicycle with wide tires, making biking on the beach a most popular past time.
At Coligny Beach Park, take part in beach volleyball or just enjoy the action from the outdoor bar while sipping on your favorite drink. The kids will love playing in the new water fountains, see video below.
Beach Services provides our life guard service as well as the rental of beach equipment including Hobie Cats, recumbent bikes, sand trikes, umbrellas, chairs, etc. Be sure to check out their website for beach regulations and safety tips.
Tip: Hilton Head Beaches are marked with numbered signs to let emergency responders know where anyone who needs help is on the beach. It is recommended that you and your family make note of the marker nearest where you are staying
in case of an emergency or so no one gets lost.
