Great Stay at SV 331!
Vacation rental searching from hundreds of miles away can be overwhelming! As a first time mom taking my baby on her first beach vacation, I totally over-analyzed the decision of where to stay. When combing through hundreds of online listings on Hilton Head Island, I relied heavily on listing photos and particularly, reviews, to make my choice. Because of that, I wanted to write my own thorough review for unit 331 at Seaside Villas in hopes that it will help someone else make the perfect choice when selecting a home-away-from-home for your family vacation. I’ll start with the things that make this rental perfect. We stayed here through the 4th of July weekend. The beach was as crowded as it gets, but we did not have to worry about fighting for a parking spot, or hauling beach gear a long way, because this complex is directly ON the beach. Many rentals in Hilton Head are waterfront, but this one is truly OCEAN-front. Your unit is truly steps away from the sand. It was important for me to be directly on the beach in order to avoid putting a wet and sandy one-year-old in a car seat. We brought a ton of beach equipment with us to help keep the baby comfortable, and with the help of a beach wagon, taking everything we needed out to the beach for the day was a breeze. Assuming you are coming to Hilton Head to enjoy the beach, the proximity of this condo to the ocean is hard to beat. Because this unit is on the third floor, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean from your balcony. The balcony has a bar-height set of chairs and table which was perfect for sipping our morning coffee while watching the waves roll in. There is no washer and dryer in this unit, but, it is conveniently located just steps away from a coin-laundry room with two sets of commercial washers and dryers. If you anticipate needing to do laundry, be sure to bring some quarters for the machines. If you don’t have quarters, you can walk just down the stairs to the second floor where there is another laundry room with a change machine. If you are traveling with a stroller or wheelchair, this unit is accessible, as the elevator is just a short walk from your room. Parking is very convenient as well. There is a keypad entry, so you only need to remember the code rather than keeping up with a key throughout your stay. I worried about renting a unit with no tub to bathe the baby in, but found that the sink in the kitchen is very deep and the perfect size for an average 12 month old. The unit has all the appliances you’d want or need, and is well-stocked with everything from cooking utensils to extra linens to household items. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and plenty of drawers and hanging space for your clothes. There was a surge protector by my bedside which was super convenient. Roku TVs in both the bedroom and living room. I loved that the living room had a round coffee table (I didn’t worry about baby bumping her head on any furniture). The condo has been very thoughtfully and beautifully renovated to make the most of the space. The only real complaint I have about this unit is that there seemed to be a really strong cigarette smoke odor during our stay. I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke, so this really bothered me. It seemed to lighten up a bit as the stay went on, but it never completely went away. I’m not sure if this smell is an issue in this unit all the time, or if the renters before us actually smoked in the unit. However, I spoke with the unit owner about this, and she went out of her way to call me on a holiday, listen to my concerns, and make things right, hence a 5-star stay. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here. You will be in close proximity to the ocean, the pool, and the iconic Coligny Plaza (easy 10 minute walk to restaurants, shops, coffee, ice cream, splash pad, playground, etc.). You’ll have a beautiful view of the beach, and everything you need for a pleasant vacation. The value for the price is pretty much unbeatable. I would recommend.

We discovered this unit a few years ago, and have returned each fall. The balcony is perfect for morning coffee and sunset wine. We love the proximity to the beach, and convenience to shops and restaurants. I hesitate to say much more or we will compete for fall rental time :) Seriously , this unit is a great find!

Everything was clean and relaxing! We needed someone to come out and unlock the bathroom door because my toddler locked it (he was not inside). Jim came and fixed it for us for no charge. The customer service was very friendly. We plan to stay again!

Verg good experience with great location. Just a couple of small things that needed repaired. Ice maker not working. Patio door very hard to lock. Patio screen door needs something repaired so it sides open and shut as very hard to move. More wash cloths need to be provided.

As advertised and perfect for what we needed. The units are small, so suitable for 2 and maybe a small child. But it met our needs. Great view, but be sure you are ok with stairs to get up. No beach equipment so bring your own. Everything inside unit was in updated and good condition.

Great stay at 331 and Hilton Head. Condo had all you needed. Plenty of SPACE FOR 2 PEOPLE. Condo was immaculate, with everything you need. AC was quiet, not like noisy ones in most units. Tv set-up was a little wonky, but who there to watch TV all the time. Vacation Time was super, answered all questions. Great view of beach. All appliances worked great. Love that shower. Close to all restaurants, beach was right there. Look forward to returning, will ask for unit 331.

The space is nicely updated especially the bathroom, well done. The balcony beach view and short walking distance to the beach was perfect. The sliding lock on the balcony door wasn’t easy to unlock should be replaced, keyless entry into the unit would be a plus.The bathroom baseboards weren’t clean. The unit advertise that it accommodates 4 the unit does not accommodate 4 adults comfortably. The pull out sofa mattress isn’t comfortable. The owners should provide a list of items that is not included in the unit eg: hand soap, dish washing liquid, sponges, extra towels, beach chairs (leasing office provided additional towels). The common area hallway carpet should be removed and replaced with commercial flooring there is a lingering odor in the hallway. Overall the unit was fine just small

The unit is newly remodeled and very clean and comfortable. Short walk to the beach. In the evenings you can find rabbits grazing in the grass on either side of the walkway. One evening we even saw two huge deer! Great trip!

The place was perfect for 2. The bed was extremely uncomfortable way to firm for our taste. Nice views of the ocean. Our day of leaving was annoying cause other were leaving as well. Trying pack our stuff up and waiting for the elevator. Other people were complaining as well. Place was nice and clean.

We had a nice stay at Seaside Villa 331! The location was great and we went to restaurants at nearby Coligny plaza several times. The villa had everything we needed, although we didn’t cook so I can’t speak to specific kitchen items. The other reviews were right regarding a few things. The key sticks in the door lock and is an issue any time you need to unlock the door. The linens are very thin, rough and towels leave lint on your skin after drying off. Finally, the villa was not very clean. There were even maps and a printout of reservation information from the last guest left on the dresser. I basically cleaned everything myself upon arrival. Overall we would return, but would bring our own towels and plan to clean ourselves.

While all the units in this complex are basically the same configuration, all are not equal. The 2 quiet a/c units and king sized comfy bed along with being an updated unit sold this one and I wasn't disappointed! Oh, and the view from the balcony was great! It would have been nice to have a couple of beach chairs with an umbrella like many of the other units do, but hey, you can't have everything. Take note this is not a full sized fridge if you have a week's worth of groceries. VTHI was great to deal with as well. Need to remind the cleaner to move the couch to vacuum.

Vacation Time of HHI worked with me as usual to secure a short 2 night beach getaway. The condo was very well kept and had everything we needed. The unit had a great ocean view from the balcony and there was good beach access.

Unit is nice but could use some upgraded bed linens (worn out paper thin) and some additional face cloths only 2 provided. I suspect this is a linen service provider issue. Kitchen needs upgraded cookware. One pan was found with dried up food stuck to pan obviously it was never cleaned. Temporarily lost water in middle of night and a short time in AM but crews worked on issue and it was quickly flowing again. These were minor inconveniences but should be addressed.

It was so nice to have a view of the ocean from our balcony and to be within about 100 yards. We spent every night walking the shore to Coligny Circle to eat, to dance and shop. The condo itself was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the amenities perfect. I would stay again.

Seaside Villas are a favorite of mine when I visit Hilton Head for a much needed break. This property is located beachfront in South Forest Beach. Unit 331 is located on the third floor with an awesome view of the beautiful beach. It has newer flooring and has been recently updated. When I was missing certain items, such as a hair dryer, I contacted VTHHI and they immediately brought one to me.

The villa was a nice size for my family of 5. The location was fabulous. A short walk to the beach with a great beach view. Also short walk to shopping and restaurants. The kitchen contained everything we needed. The pool was nice;the kids really enjoyed.
The mattresses of the queen bed and sofa bed were bad though. We did not get a great night's sleep.
Reservation, check in and check out process went smoothly. Office staff was very nice.

First time visiting Hilton Head. Found Seaside Villa was a good location. Unit 331 was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed setting on patio and view was very good. Liked having laundry close. Size was plenty enough room for 2. Bunk beds in hall would be ok for kids but if you had to use the sofa bed in living room it would be tight. Someone mentioned in another review that they used the bunks for luggage etc ... thanks worked great for us and freed up bedroom clutter. Enjoyed our short time there and would stay there again. Only downside was it could be stuffy in bedroom but if you kept door open and put fan in hall it was fine.

The only negative comments relate to the lack of storage space and the fact there was no reclining chair in the living room. This made a big impact on my husband who suffers from back problems. We solved the storage space by using the bunk beds!

The property was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was the best part with a beautiful ocean view from the room and just a very short walk to the beach. The only downside was the size of the villa itself. It is advertised as sleeping up to 6 however our family of four felt very crowded. There was not ample space to store our belongings so we had bags in every corner in every room making it seem like a cluttered mess. We had taken a twin size air mattress thinking that with two teenage boys they might prefer not to share a bed, however once the sofa bed was pulled out there was absolutely no floor space left for the small air mattress. We always felt like we were on top of each other. The corner kitchen has no storage space for food items so we had cereal boxes, bread,and snack foods piled all over the place leaving no space to prepare food. We knew we were getting a smaller space than we were used to but the pictures on the website make it look much bigger. The space would be perfect for a couple or even a couple with a small child but not a family of four especially with teenage children.

Our condo was really nice & clean. We have been staying w/this company since it was Adventure Inn. We have dealt w/Stephanie many times & have never been disappointed. She is a real asset to Vacation Time. Very nice & helpful. We have also dealt w/Jimmy & he is pretty cool himself. The unit was nice and clean, modern and up-to-date. Everything functioned quite well. A good location. A lot of things had been updated - new vanity in the bathroom with granite top, counter top in kitchen, back splash, stainless steel appliances. Very nice!

we love Sea Side Villas and this unit was not a disappointment. The unit met our expectations and we especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the ocean. The location is perfect - we love being right on the beach so convenient. We always stay on S Forest Beach just for the proximity to Coligny with all the shops and restaurants.

The unit was very clean but the bedroom was extremely small. It is pretty much as pictured on the web page. I loved the location as it was easily accessible to the ocean, eventhough we did not really have beach weather while we were there. The building was very quiet and other than the very small bedroom and lack of air conditioning in the bedroom, everything else was great.

My friends and I were looking for something more affordable that was right on the beach, that would fit 4 people. For the price, this place was great! It was small, but we weren't planning to stay in the room long. It was perfect for a short trip! Had the best time!

Unit had a nice ocean view, local is great. Updated and clean. Kitchen supplies very limit. Basic utensil are missing, can opener, cutting board, wine opener, kettle, etc. Frustrating when your trying to cook a meal.Very easy to improve this.

It was good. At first we were a little thrown off by the size of the bedroom as it is tiny but actually became use to it and enjoyed it. Really the only complaint about the room were there are zero cooking essentials. We went to the grocery store on the way in and had gotten little things to make throughout our stay, for example; eggs, hard to make eggs when you don't have a pan. There wasn't a wine opener. Just little things like that made the kitchen really non usable. The only other complaint is that guests are allowed to smoke on their balconies so we weren't able to sit on our balcony without smelling smoke as you are so close to other balconies, so as non smokers you can't get away from it. Outside of that, place was exactly what we needed/wanted, close to everything, and we love Hilton Head so you can't go wrong.

It was an awesome experience. Great location and property was clean and well maintained. We rented bicycles and did not have to drive our car except for our trip to eat at Skull Creek Boathouse. Our favorite restaurant was the Sea Shack recommended by property manager. We would recommend this property to anybody wanting a great stay on Hilton Head Island.

Our original rental had a last minute heating problem so the rental agency gave us this one instead. We were very pleased with it. It was very clean and the ocean view from the balcony was fantastic. The only downside to our stay was the weather. Coldest feb on record, but were still able to bundle up walk on beach and to Coligny Square which was very close by. Would definitely recommend this condo and also Vacation Time of Hilton Head. They were very accommodating and gave us many choices as replacement rentals.

Was booked at the Metropolitan Hotel, awful place for 5 nights. Found they lied about being beachfront 200 steps from the beach. Cancelled after the first night. Checked into the Seaside Resort, beautiful, gated steps from the beach. Staff was so helpful and allowed us to check in early because our unit was ready. We staid four nights and was only charged for three. Thank for helping to save our anniversary trip. Will came again and make sure we book only through Vacation Time in the future. Thank you again, your kindness was so needed and appreciated.

We stayed at the condo for 4 days. The check in process was super easy and e got our keys a little early! The condo looked exactly like the picture and was clean. The bedspread was a little stained on the bunkbead but we just pulled it off and used our own blanket for our son. We never saw any bugs and the exterminator was spraying units and said he would come back once we checked out. We could see the beach and it was a short walk to the beach which made it very easy for us with a child. We walked mostly everywhere and the grounds of the condo was kept up very well. We would definitely stay here again!

This was our first time staying at Seaside Villas. This unit was recently thoroughly renovated and had a great ocean view. We only stayed a few hours because AC units in the living and bedroom were not working. The living room only blew out warm air and the bedroom appeared to be frozen. Vacation Time of Hilton Head promptly moved us to another Villa where the AC was ice cold. The Villa wasn't as updated but was still very nice with even better views of the ocean. We were compensated for the first night stay due to the transition. Customer service is outstanding. We cannot wait to go back.
